Practice: The Art of Mastery, Transformation, and Change

Practice: The Art of Mastery, Transformation, and Change
The 10,000 hour rule was popularized by Malcolm Gladwell as the path to mastery. Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000-hour rule, introduced in Outliers, suggests that achieving world-class expertise typically requires around 10,000 hours of deliberate practice, combined with opportunity and sustained effort. The central idea isn’t that 10,000 hours guarantees mastery, but that exceptional performance is usually the result of long-term, focused practice rather than innate talent alone.

There was a press conference which became famous for Hall of Fame basketball star Allen Iverson talking about practice. It was portrayed that he didn’t value practice. Unlike this portrayal, I believe most of us realize the importance of practice. In our process of “Commit, Show Up, Don’t Quit, Be Uncommon, Become Your Best Self” committing is the first step. If you are committing to Transformation and Change of course a vital next step is showing up. However, if you truly want Transformation and change, it is not simply about showing up, but how we show up.

In our Master Warrior classes we have been focusing on and diving deeper into how we show up. Here is some of what we have discussed regarding  our practice and training.

Art of Mastery and Transformation/ Change
1. Take the pill (Warrior vs Librarian)
2. Not just intellectual (thinking) but Experiential (Feeling)
3. Takes time to Transform the Being
4. Grace, Effortless Power, Ease/Efficiency are a New Way of Being
5. Free Yourself from Your self
6. Practice becomes your strategy which becomes your new way of life

I will be going deeper into each aspect of the above in our in person training and in future emails. However, one thought I would like to leave you with is this; we are 100% confident that we have a process to help you “Close the Gap” to becoming a stronger and more resilient version of your truest and best self. We can also give you the science and “why” behind the process. However, accumulating content and knowledge wont get the job done. It will always be up to you to do the work. What we can do is guide you in the process and hold you accountable to what it is you “say” you want to do.
